Police road blocks are common here and I’m always being told by my friends to hide my cameras. I am not used to that and I find it scary. Yesterday though, in Tengenenge, an artists’ colony, we found peace and tranquility. The artists were busy carving their boulders of stone, the children were playing and everyone welcomed our project with enthusiasm and gratitude, the kind of response you often get in such places. ‘We are all human’, was my message and they responded with handshakes and hugs and more music.
